MV Technology Department
Technology is the study of the human made world. Technology courses at Minisink Valley are designed to expose students to the Technology that surrounds people in their daily lives. This could be through the form of energy, manufacturing, electronic, medical, transportation, CAD (Computer Aided Design), design, agricultural, construction, and communication technologies. Students will bring in the knowledge they have learned in Math and Science, and be able to apply it to a unit of study/project in Technology class.
Problem solving is stressed throughout each unit that is completed. Students will be informed on different careers associated with Technology as well. The district in conjunction with the Technology department has been working towards the new STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) initiative to bring the engineering element into the classroom. This is important because our country is in a great demand for engineers.
Our curriculum encompasses the latest equipment and materials; CNC (Computer Numeric Control) machining, LASER Engraving, 3D Printing, and basic materials processing equipment, will help to reinforce this engineering concept. Below you will find links to the most recent events taking place in each buildings Technology department. Stay tuned for updates!
